University of Iowa alumni and artist Emily Edwards will partner with the City of Granger to design and install a mural on an exterior wall of the community center in Granger, Iowa.

With input from City leaders and community members, the mural will celebrate Granger's identity and cultivate a stronger sense of place. The City envisions a mural that transforms a prominent wall of the building into a memorable community landmark while creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Emily will work closely with community members to develop themes and imagery that reflect Granger's history and identity. To facilitate community conversations and gather feedback, she will create a preliminary mural design guide that explores multiple concepts inspired by the community's character, local landmarks, natural features, and shared experiences. Community input will help shape the final design, resulting in a mural that reflects both Granger's heritage and its continued growth.
