Granger - Crisis Communication Plan

Students in a Journalism and Mass Communication course will partner with the City of Granger to develop a crisis communication plan that prepares the City to communicate effectively with residents, businesses, media, and other stakeholders during a crisis.

Students will work with City officials to develop strategies for communicating clearly, consistently, and effectively during times of uncertainty. The project will examine how different types of crises may affect the community and how communication strategies can be adapted to address the needs of residents and other stakeholders.

Drawing on case studies and strategic communication frameworks, students will develop recommendations for how the City can prepare for, respond to, and communicate throughout a crisis.

The resulting crisis communication plan will provide Granger with a practical framework that can be adapted to a range of potential situations. By establishing communication protocols and strategies before a crisis occurs, the plan will help the City respond more quickly, provide accurate and timely information, maintain public trust, and support effective coordination during challenging circumstances.
