As part of his graduate capstone project, Sports & Recreation management student Chris Gelhaus provided recommendations for the reuse of a historic school gymnasium in Essex, Iowa. 

Essex, Iowa, is interested in the redevelopment and reuse of a gymnasium within town. The city is looking for a community center, focused primarily on creating public spaces, hosting programming for youth and adults, and holding public events.

As part of his graduate capstone project, Sports & Recreation management student Thomas Harder collaborated with the Manning Parks and Recreation department on a strategic plan for their community recreation center and ballfields.

As part of his graduate capstone project, Sport and Recreation Management student, Parker Hesse, provided recommendations for the design of a new disc golf course at Don Williams Park in Boone County. 

Students in the Department of Health and Human Physiology's Sports and Recreation Management Program recommended strategies to enhance the partnership between the Clinton LumberKings minor league baseball organization and the Downtown Clinton Alliance. 

As part of their graduate capstone project, Sports & Recreation students collaborated with students in the School of Urban and Regional Planning to assist in the creation of a promotion and branding guide for Webster City Parks & Recreation Department.
