Overview

This project was focused on the creation of a small systems wastewater system for use in Iowa communities with less than 5,000 people. Waste water plants that are larger than necessary can lead to significant costs for the communities served by them, incentivizing the need for effective small-scale systems for Iowa’s small communities.

Senior engineering researched existing commercial small-scale wastewater systems and designed a facility for several different kinds of these small systems to be tested for use in Iowa.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a site plan; pump building plan; and piping configuration for a "small systems" testing facility to be built on teh grounds of the Iowa City Wastewater Treatment Plant.
