Graduate student Ali Hval designed a 12-panel mural for downtown Webster City.  

The mural celebrates Webster City's past, present, and future with colorful paintings that each represent an important person or aspect of the community.  Ali painted the mural with the help of members of the community.

As part of the Senior Design Capstone Course, Civil & Environmental Engineering students provided design alternatives for an outdoor amphitheater in Webster City.

A local benefactor in the Webster City community would like to see and financially support the creation of an outdoor amphitheater at the bottom of Hospital Hill at Brewer Creek Park. Set in the natural valley alongside Brewer Creek and the Brewer Creek Trail, this location would be a perfect spot for outdoor concerts and gatherings.

Students in the course Non-Profit Organizational Effectiveness worked with representatives of All Cultures Equal to find external grants that could meet the organization's funding priorities. 

All Cultures Equal (ACE) is a Webster City based non-profit organization focused on bringing together and empowering diverse cultures in the community.  ACE provides a wide range of services, such as ESL programming, Immigration assistance, community meetings and events, translation services, and more.

Students in Nonfiction Film created short film profiles of Keokuk residents, with the goal of telling stories of individuals who are working to make a difference in their community and are contributing to its vitality and growth.

Students in the Department of Cinematic Arts worked with Keokuk residents who have contributed to the growth of their community with the work they do.  The film profiles help portray Keokuk from a variety of unique perspectives.

MFA student Ali Hval designed and painted a mural in downtown Clinton, Iowa, assisted by fellow MFA student Marina Ross.

Artist Ali Hval was selected by the Office of Outreach & Engagement to design and install a mural for an exterior wall located in downtown Clinton.  She recruited fellow artist and MFA student Marina Ross to provide assistance. The project was made possible by a collaboration between two university outreach and engagement programs, Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities (IISC) and Arts Share.
